Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about the Majority Eversden:

 

What does IPX5 mean? Is the Eversden fully waterproof?

The Eversden’s rating of IPX5 officially means that it is water resistant against water jets. In essence, this means bringing your radio into the shower or having it out in the rain is fine, as a few jets of water won’t do any harm. However, the Eversden is not 100% waterproof so please do not submerge it in water.

 

I think I may have exposed my Eversden to too much water. What should I do?

If you think you may have exposed your Eversden to too much water or the sound has become dull, try drying it out by shaking the water out of the speaker. If this doesn’t work, try leaving the radio to air dry, speaker face down, on a towel for a day or two.

 

How long does it take the Eversden to charge, and how long will it last?

The Eversden will be fully charged after approximately 5-6 hours. This will provide around 13-15 hours of portable charge at a medium level of volume. At maximum volume, the radio will last around 6-8 hours.

 

Can I use headphones with the Eversden?

Yes – you can use wired headphones with the Eversden by plugging them into the 3.5mm headphone jack.

 

Does the Eversden work with Bluetooth headphones?

Unfortunately, the Eversden cannot send audio out via Bluetooth, only receive it. It is not compatible with Bluetooth headphones.

 

Can you control Bluetooth audio using the Eversden buttons?

No, unfortunately the Eversden is not equipped with this feature – when playing audio via Bluetooth, you would need to use your Bluetooth device to control the audio.

 

Does it have an AUX-in line/port?

No, the Eversden is only equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack, enabling you to listen to the radio via headphones. The Eversden is not able to receive audio from a separate device via an AUX connection like an MP3 player or CD player.

 

How do I tune DAB radio stations?

The radio should already have scanned for available stations during set up. However, if you are having trouble listening to stations, try performing a re-scan. To perform a re-scan, press the Menu button to open DAB settings and select the option for “Full Scan” with the Scroll/Select dial. Why can’t I get a good signal?

Despite the National Commercial Network being one of the largest digital radio networks in the world, consisting of more than 140 transmitters, there are still some gaps in coverage. It may be that you live in an area with weak DAB signal. There’s good signal in my area, but I still get bad reception. What can I do?

Here are some troubleshooting points if you are having issues with signal interference:

  1. Try switching your radio off and on again.
  2. Try performing a full scan.
  3. Ensure the telescopic/integrated aerial is fully extended.
  4. Try moving the aerial around to see if that improves the signal. If not, try moving your radio around to see if you can find a better position with a clearer signal – it’s harder for radio signals to penetrate through thick concrete walls. Try positioning your radio next to or close to a window.

  6. Devices that can interfere with DAB radios include microwave ovens, LED lighting, laptops and laptop power supplies, LCD TVs, mobile phones, and power line networking. It may be possible for you to detect the device causing interference by switching things off, one at a time, until your interference problem is resolved.
  7. Weather can often affect DAB signal, particularly fine weather including high pressure. The best course of action in this situation is to wait for the weather to change – you should not attempt to re-tune during this time.
